Whilst trekking through the mountains we observe several members of the subfamily ‘Caprinae’ who are all resident in the Himalayas. The Alpine ibex, the Marco Polo sheep and the chiru or Tibetan antelope. All of these animals which were once abundant are now critically endangered due to over hunting and damage to their environment. We observe the animal’s behaviour, numbers and try to gather the ages of the creatures which we can determine by the length of their horns. What truly magnificent beasts!
