A Tibetan Mastiff guards the home of a tibetan family. Know as Do-khyi which translates as ‘Home guard’ or ’ dog which may be tied,’ it is kept as a guardian of property, livestock, monastries and palaces. The Tibetan Mastiff is an ancient dog which studies show was genetically diverged from the wolf long before many other domestic dog breeds.
