Various parts of the Areca palm including the seed which is better known as the betel nut. This palm grows in most parts of the tropics including Asia, the Pacific and some parts of Africa. The chewing of the nut combined with the leaves acts as a stimulant and is part of an ancient custom which dates back thousands of years.
